About Belly dance"Belly Dance" is the English name for this ancient Middle Eastern dance form. It is known as "Raqs Sharqi" in Arabic, which means "Oriental Dance" or "Eastern Dance". There are many different stories about where and when "Raqs Sharqi" started. Most believe it originated in Egypt, and became a popular form of social/cultural dance in Middle Eastern countries. It has gained popularity worldwide in recent years as people become more concerned about fitness and health. Nonetheless, belly dance has become a new trend of exercise for both female and male. Dancers not only can stay in shape with increased flexibility, but also lose weight and maintain proper posture.
